All pictures benefit from a different style of picture framing. Below is some inspiration.

Multi frames

We are one of the few picture framers to custom make multiple photo frames. You can choose from 2 to 12 photos. Each photo can be of a different size. Our online multi-picture framing app can be accessed here.

A little guidance. Hope it helps

• The first step is to orientate and lay your photos out on a table in the order you think looks best when in a multi-frame. We work in rows and columns
• Now number each photo and measure each size, best to do it in mm.
• Enter our online frame designer  First step is to choose how many photographs or pictures you are framing. Then choose a layout option.
• Next, you will be asked if all your photos are the same size.
• If the are, enter the size. If they are different then you will be shown a series of boxes. Enter the size into each box, in the order you like.
• Now watch the frame visualisation change.
• Then go to the next step and choose a frame style
• Then go to the next step and you can choose mount colours and border sizes.

Box Picture Frames

Principally box frames are used to mount 3d objects like football shirts, medal or keepsakes. A box frame can also be used to mount a picture at the back of the frame. If the image is mounted in a raised fashion, it will give the appearance of floating in the frame.

Our Box frames cover all colour categories: Black, White, Gold, Silver, Dark woods or natural oaks. Although the range becomes more limited as they tend to use more wood and thus can be expensive, we have carefully selected the best Value box frames with matching spacers.

Floating your photo in a box frame

Although generally used to frame 3d objects, they can also be used with a picture mount to give your picture or photo a real floating effect. The image is mounted at the back of the box frame and viewed through the mount opening. You will see this style of framing in many galleries.

Alternatively, you can raise the picture by sticking to a piece of cardboard and then mounting it in the centre of the frame. Here you will have to order the box frame in a larger size than your picture. There is no real rule, but 50mm either side will work well.

Poster Frames

Our range goes from thin-faced, giving an elegant minimalist appearance. The thinner faced black poster frame does look fab, but if you choose a thinner one, it is essential to select a reasonably deep one as larger poster will need a frame with enough rigidity to stop it drooping over time.

Black poster frames are plentiful, to say the least. The problem we often find is each poster is a few mm less or more than the printers say they are. Luckily, we custom make each poster frame to the exact size you need. It is important to measure the poster yourself. Best done in mm.

But don’t just stick to Black and White. As you can choose any size custom, you can have a Gold, silver or even oak poster frame.

Some inspiration when choosing your poster frame

Poster frames don’t have to be black. We do indeed sell 90% of them in black, but it is worth considering something different. Here we have a dark grey frame that certainly gives this poster a lift. We used moulding GR14 which you will find in our framing studio.

Poster frames in a gloss white frame

Here we have chosen a white gloss poster frame using W122 frame moulding. The high gloss finish gives a real modern look.

Yes, it’s black. But it’s not the norm, here we have used B52 which has a traditional twist which gives a modern look black poster frame.

By definition, we all think of photo frames as small self-standing frames that sit on the mantelpiece with cherished family photos.

But don’t be fooled you can get quite creative with the use of picture mounts; thicker mount borders can accentuate the prominence of a photo in a frame. And these look fabulous on the wall above a free-standing photo frame in the same vicinity.
